Our Mission

To help children and adolescents build meaningful skills that increase independence, strengthen connections, and improve everyday life. Through individualized, evidence-based ABA services, we meet each learner where they are and support meaningful growth at home, at school, and in the community.

Meaningful Skills for Real Life

ABA should be as individual as the learner.

At SKC Learning, we don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to ABA. Our programs are thoughtfully designed around each learner's strengths, needs, interests, environment, and stage of life.

Whether we're working on communication, self-advocacy, daily living, executive functioning, flexibility, relationships, or greater independence, we begin with one important question:

Will this skill make a meaningful difference in this learner's everyday life?

A Thoughtful Approach to ABA

Evidence-Based. Individualized. Respectful.

We believe effective ABA begins with understanding the individual—not simply changing behavior.

Our clinicians use evidence-based principles of learning and behavior while prioritizing positive reinforcement, functional communication, self-advocacy, learner assent and engagement, and skills that are meaningful to everyday life.

We don't aim to make learners appear more “typical.” We focus on helping them develop skills that allow them to communicate what they need, navigate their environments, participate in the things that matter to them, and experience greater independence.

  • Positive reinforcement

Learning that is engaging, motivating, and respectful.

  • Communication & self-advocacy

More ways to share needs, preferences, and boundaries.

  • Assent & engagement

We pay attention to how learners feel about their sessions.

Frequently Asked Questions

Questions Families Often Ask

What ages does SKC Learning serve?

We work with children and adolescents. Because every program is individualized, our goals and teaching methods are adapted to each learner's age and stage of life—from early communication and play skills for younger learners to executive functioning, self-management, and independence for pre-teens and teens.

How soon can services begin?

Timing depends on your location, your learner's clinical needs, staffing availability, and any insurance authorization requirements. During your complimentary consultation we'll give you a realistic picture of next steps and expected timing.

Does SKC Learning accept my insurance?

Coverage for ABA varies from plan to plan. The simplest way to find out is to request a complimentary benefits verification. We'll contact your insurance carrier, explain what we learn in straightforward terms, and you can decide whether to move forward. There is no obligation.

Why does SKC Learning provide services in the home?

Skills are most meaningful when learners can use them where they naturally live and participate. Working in the home lets us practice skills within real routines—with the people, activities, and environments where those skills matter most.

What happens during an ABA session?

There is no single “typical” session. Depending on your learner's goals, a session may include building rapport, practicing communication or social goals, working on daily routines, developing flexibility and self-management, or learning through games and preferred activities. Read more about what sessions look like.

How involved will I be in my child's treatment?

Caregivers are an important part of the process. Your BCBA will collaborate with you on goals, share progress, and offer practical strategies so skills carry over into everyday routines. We'll work with you to find a level of involvement that fits your family.

How are treatment goals selected?

Goals are based on individualized assessment, your family's priorities, and—whenever possible—your learner's own preferences. Every goal is guided by one question: Will this skill make a meaningful difference in this learner's everyday life?
